Tommy Boggs
Thomas Winton Boggs (born October 25, 1955) is a former professional baseball pitcher. Boggs pitched in all or part of nine seasons in Major League Baseball between 1976 and 1985. Boggs was the 2nd overall pick in the 1974 Major League Baseball Draft, drafted out of Lanier High School in Austin, Texas by the Texas Rangers. He started his major league career with the Rangers, and ended it with them as well. In between, he pitched six seasons for the Atlanta Braves. On May 1, 1978, in a game versus the New York Mets, Braves manager Bobby Cox was ejected from a game for the first time in his career.〔Sports Illustrated, Thumbing his Way back home by Thomas Lake, July 26, 2010, p. 49, Published by Time Inc.〕 Cox would go on to set the record for most ejections by a manager. Tommy Boggs was the pitcher on the mound at the time of the first ejection.
